Tie Disposal Policy

PTRA Tie Disposal policy: 

When treated wood ties are removed from PTRA property in the normal course of business, they will be placed in designated dumpsters for disposal by PTRA’s waste disposal vendor.   

Exception: when third-party contractors are involved in projects that involve tie removal, the contractor is expected to dispose of any surplus ties. 

PTRA does not allow treated wooden ties to be donated to individuals or groups.
